STOP talking about creativity, GO create!

....The idea to bring the Active Listening Playground to Morocco was born in a Think Tank called “Alumni Denkfabrik”, organized by the Goethe Institute Rabat.

The filmmaker Layla Triqui and the cultural manager Isabel Eddouks developed the project for an ALP in Morocco in cooperation with the Goethe Institute and braught together Game Masters from very different kinds of communities. The idea was to produce a documentary about the process of creativity in a public school in Morocco, that can further be used as pedagogical material for other people who are interested (teachers, coaches, artists, associations) in arts education and creative teaching. So in September 2013 Keren Rosenbaum arrived and it all started with a first workshop for the Game Masters, which were a group of teachers from the public school École Ibn Al Abass and a mixed team of creative people such as actors, musicians, a  poet, a university professor, an art historian a social entrepreneur and a telecommunication engineer". A Bigger Thank You: for the Kids of 4 classes to join our Game-Master program and the additional 200 kids who joined our final playground. The ACTIVE LISTENING PLAYGROUND at École Ibn Al Abass was  funded by the GOETHE INSTITUTE Rabat.

In the school the Game Masters worked together with 4 classes, which they entered as a team together with the teachers. The children were inspired by the Active Listening tools which were practiced in the classes, such as I PAINT YOU SING and PUSH THE BUTTON in several variations.

Together the Game Master created musical games for the final event at the end of the week, which were played by 400 children from the school. The final Playground had 6 stations, which were assisted by two Game Masters and one teacher who joined the Game Master training. The children played common games, which were modified into interactive listening games. Such as hopscotch and 1-2-3-Sun. In a garden of dreams the children discovered the inner and the outer listening and how to connect the inner voice with the outer voice. One station built an orchestra out of plastic bags and bottles, which played a score made from clothes. And the final station was a special imaginary soccer game, where all senses were activated (sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch).
